About Me  Kahlil M. Kuykendall  Wellness Therapist and Master Yogi

I am a mother, yoga therapist, doula (birth and postpartum), birth keeper /trainer and women’s activist.

My mission is to enhance the physical, emotional, psychological and spiritual health of mothers, babies and families through education and support during pregnancy, childbirth and early parenthood.

I have been doing this work in the Washington, DC area for more than 10 years, and it is always growing and shifting.  What I know: the process of birth is important, transformative and mysterious. My goal is to help educate women and families about their choices in childbirth, encouraging them to believe and trust in their ability to birth their babies with as little interference and medical intervention as possible. I also believe the greatest expert in the birthing process is the birthing woman herself. Mama. The one who knows her body and baby the best. I trust her. I trust the process. I trust instinct.

 

Through my work, I strive to create environments where my clients and students feel supported and 

empowered as they move through their most vulnerable experiences. 

 

Yoga, Birth & Wellness Services for Women & Families

Prenatal & Postnatal Yoga

Prenatal Yoga honors the unique capacity of the pregnant body while respecting the changing psyche of the expectant mother. In this class, we will combine discussion with gentle yoga stretches, creative movement, breath work, massage and guided imagery to cultivate a deeper awareness, trust and confidence in our body’s innate resources for pregnancy, labor and birth.

Kundalini & Hatha Yoga / Meditation

This class offers quality time to rebalance your body, rejuvenate your energy, bond with your baby and build social connections with other new moms. Babies are gently and safely incorporated into class as active participants using soothing massage, movement and song to engage them.

Conscious Pregnancy Childbirth Education

Our childbirth education course is ideal for pregnant couples who want to use yoga and mindfulness practices to cultivate focus, calm and inner strength as part of their birth preparation. It combines a holistic understanding of health and wellness and a multidisciplinary approach to teaching.
